TfL launch live data for Olympics cloud apps
In a bid to ease congestion on the London tube, rail and bus networks, Transport for London have announced that live data will be shared in the cloud. The API has been opened up to third parties in the hope that more commuters will access TfL’s data as they travel. App developers can use the feeds to display delays, waiting times and bottlenecks. None of this is much use while data connections are inaccessible underground of course, but TfL’s limited wifi network is due to be switched on literally weeks (or days) before the games begin.
